This week has been crazy! JDRF Tampa Bay Chapter is holding a special event this Saturday, July 12th, called Paddle to Cure Diabetes! Participants will be kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding either a race course or fun course, all while raising money for JDRF! It’s incredibly exciting to be behind the scenes and to help set up everything that needs to be taken to the beach for the event! Tons of planning and preparation have gone into this event, and I’m sure it will be a huge success!
Yesterday alone we got all the food items together, registration forms and award certificates printed, banners and signs put together, and volunteer t-shirts organized and sized. Today is a brand new day, however! We still have a few more things to get together for the paddle event before Saturday and before we load it all up tomorrow.
In addition to all the Paddle preparations, I think Christine has some tasks for me to do today as well. We’ve received many donations from various companies and individuals for our Gala in the Fall! And what better way to show our appreciation for their generosity? Thank you letters! I’ve got lots of letters to address and mail today, but that just means the Gala is on its way to success!
P.S. If you’re in the Tampa Bay area this weekend, stop by the Paddle to Cure Diabetes event this Saturday, July, 12 at Sand Key Beach! You won’t want to miss it! =)
